First published in Berlin in Spring 1923, For the voice is a collection of 13 poems for reading out loud. In his dynamic graphics for each of the poems, El Lissitzky captured the ideas visually to inspire the reader. Together, poet and book constructor made, in Lissitzky's words, "the book as a work of art".
