Music and Performing Arts Library

There are several Illinois song books and collections at MPAL, as well as at other libraries on campus. Many of them were compiled and arranged by students, faculty, and alumni, often as a passion project. This dedication to university songs, especially from so many different people, speaks to their importance to U. of I. culture. Because of these indivduals and the institutions that house their creations, they are preserved long after they were written--just as the people who made them intended.

While there is considerable overlap between the different collections of songs, no two song books contain the exact same contents.
