University of Illinois Song-Book

In the early 1900s, the U. of I. community was seeking out music that they could call their own and that would help define campus culture. With help from the Women's League, several lyricists and musicians, and a two-person committee consisting of Willabelle Wilson and Louise Shipman, the first "Song-Book" was born in 1908. The book would be revised and newer editions released as more songs were added to the collection.
